Tycho Gold Prospect
Location - Coolgardie WA
Assignment Spec - Mineral Resource Estimation and Strategic Analysis of Mineral Resource
Project Overview - The Tycho Gold Prospect lies within the MacPhersons owned tenements, near Coolgardie, Western Australia. The Tycho prospect is a 2011 greenfields discovery hosted within a northwest – southeast striking north east dipping shear zone crossing a sequence of mafic and ultramafic rocks. CSA Global’s Resources and Mine Geology Group has recently completed an updated Mineral Resource estimate for the Tycho prospect.
CSA’s Role - Working in conjunction with CSA Resources and Mine Geology Group, the Mining and Projects Group strategically analysed the mineral resource to assist with prudent decision making and to speed project development. Using a range of cost data sourced from other MRP operations in the area, and gold prices of A$1250 to $2000, Mr Nick Holthouse, Principal Mining Engineer, defined strategic mining envelopes for the resource. These envelopes indicated open pit mining could potentially recover resources to depths of up to 105m below surface. Sensitivity analysis was also able to identify the project drivers, such as gold price and mill recovery, which are likely to have the greatest impact or potential risk for the project. This strategic analysis will assist MRP in planning drilling to evaluate mineralisation at depth and along strike extensions.
