Meet Principal Consultant, Mine Water Management, Damien Janssen at the Australasian Groundwater Conference (AGC) 2019 between 24-27 November 2019, in Brisbane, Australia.
The AGC 2019 will feature a stimulating technical program around the theme of “Groundwater in a Changing World” that covers a broad range of applications to resources, infrastructure and environment. The program will include stimulating plenary speakers, engaging panel discussions and opportunities for delegates to share their experiences, inform best practice, and identify the steps they can take to bring about lasting improvements to the management of our vital groundwater resources.

PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT – MINE WATER MANAGEMENT
Damien has over 20 years’ experience in hydrogeology, mining and structural geology and has managed technical services to clients in the resource and mining sector. He has considerable expertise in conceptualising complex groundwater systems – applied to mine dewatering strategies, surplus water disposal solutions, project water supplies, pit voids at mine closure, right through to groundwater impact assessments and ecohydrological studies to enable environmental approvals. Damien has worked on projects across Australia, West Africa and Indonesia and possesses significant experience in the Pilbara and was involved in the five-year planning and life of asset water management planning for BHP Billiton Iron Ore. Over the years, Damien has led many multi-disciplinary studies to deliver feasibility study and environmental approvals outcomes for water, including management of hydrogeological field investigations, and has applied stakeholder management to several production planning projects, inclusive of investment evaluations, and biodiversity and environmental approvals.
