CSA Global and The PDAC congratulate winners of the Joan Bath and Peter Howe Bursary Awards for 2019

TORONTO, CANADA – MARCH 6, 2019 – CSA Global and The Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) congratulated the winners of the Joan Bath and Peter Howe Bursary for Advancement in the Mineral Industry at the annual PDAC Conference.

The awards were presented during the Student-Industry Networking Luncheon on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, recognising geoscientists and mining engineers in their quest to advance the economic aspects of the mineral industry in Canada through research.

CSA Global’s President of Americas, Stan Wholley, stated: “We were delighted to congratulate Rebecca Montsion, Recipient of the 2019 Joan Bath Award and James Kidder, Recipient of the 2019 Peter Howe Award. It was an honour to have the late Peter Howe’s wife, Jovette Howe hand out the award, including a special congratulatory announcement from Joan Bath in Australia.”

Stan had previously stated the company was excited to be supporting the next wave of thought leaders in the pursuit of innovation, improved sustainability and profitability in the mineral industry.

Rebecca Montsion, recipient of the 2019 Joan Bath Bursary for Advancement in the Mineral Industry stated: “Joan Bath’s professional achievements have blazed a trail for women in mining and winning an award that honours her is both humbling and thrilling. Being the recipient for this award has encouraged me in my current research and inspires me to pursue further innovation in mineral exploration.”

James Kidder, recipient of the 2019 Peter Howe Bursary for Advancement in the Mineral Industry, stated: “I want to express my sincere appreciation and thanks to both CSA Global and PDAC for selecting me as the recipient of the inaugural Peter Howe bursary award. Truly, I am honored to receive it. This award will help ongoing research efforts, and it is exciting to see the potential upsides of hydrogeochemistry recognized in this way.”

The PDAC Convention concludes on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 and will run again between March 1-4 in 2020.
