Chris is a Brisbane based Partner with over 20 years’ experience in mine closure and rehabilitation spanning various commodities and geographies. Chris has led and managed a range of closure and rehabilitation projects within Queensland. He has a strong technical background in water management, soils and hydrogeochemistry and has provided expert testimony within Queensland and internationally on surface water, groundwater and soils matters associated with mine closure, in addition to presenting over 20 papers on these topics. He was Project Director and also technical expert on water management for the Best Practice Progressive Rehabilitation and Closure documents for Department of Environment & Science (DES), which was the foundation for Queensland Mine Reforms and PRCP Guidelines. He is a Chartered Professional Engineer and RPEQ in the disciplines of civil engineering and environmental engineering.

Howard is an experienced mining professional who has undertaken the delivery of mining engineering, mine planning and economic evaluation for projects, technical studies, and operations. He has delivered projects and studies across multiple geographies and commodities, with responsibilities for design, planning, scheduling of mine operations, and economic evaluation. Howard has focused on innovation throughout his career, focusing on technology solutions, integrated mining systems such as in-pit crushing and conveying, and new and alternative mining methodologies.

Charissa is a Principal Environmental Scientist and Team Leader of ERM’s Sustainable Mining Team, with experience covering environmental management, regulatory approvals and permitting, planning, and compliance. She has worked on a range of projects in various sectors, including mining across consulting and operational environments in Australia and South Africa. Charissa has been responsible for compiling and managing approvals, permits and Environmental and Social Impact Assessments and Management Plans for mine sites in a range of geographies and commodities, seeing through many projects from concept to implementation and closure through consultative process.
