Austmine is delighted to announce our second round of the Women in STEM: METS Career Pathway Program, supported by funding from METS Ignited.

Applications are now open for second, third, fourth and masters year students wishing to apply for the program. 

Austmine will host a series of information sessions to students at participating universities;

  • Federation University – 1 August 2018 from 12.30pm to 1.30pm – Mt Helen Campus
  • University of Newcastle – 2 August 2018 from 12.00pm to 1.00pm – NIER Building
  • University of Western Australia – 8 August 2018 from 4.00pm to 5.00pm – Engineering Lecture Theatre 2
  • Curtin University – 10 August 2018 from 12.00pm to 1.00pm – Building 300 Room 221
  • UNSW – 15 August 2018 from 5.00pm to 6.00pm –  Ainsworth Room 101, UNSW Kensington Campus
  • University of Wollongong – 16 August 2018 – 12:30pm-2:00pm (Location to be advised)
  • QUT – 22 August 2018 from 12.30pm to1.30pm – Gardens Point Campus, O Block, Room 304

Position description

CSA Global is providing students with an opportunity to apply the theory and concepts from university and put them to work as you assist the CSA Global engineers with reviews, mine designs, mine schedules and other projects. Some of the work you may be involved with may include geotechnical slope stability, underground stope designs, supporting engineering analyses in commodities such as iron ore, gold, graphite, lithium and other minerals. You will be part of a Perth-based team which will provide mentoring, exposure to a wealth of knowledge and challenge, and provide opportunities to be involved in hands-on mine planning projects from around the world.

Additional information

CSA Global is looking for students with:

-Microsoft Office suite skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint as a minimum)
-Familiarity with mine planning software is preferred, but not mandatory
-West Australian manual car license is useful, but not mandatory
-Ability to travel, though travel is not guaranteed
