Nigel Fung
Partner – Americas
Nigel is a dynamic and innovative mining professional with more than 20 years of Canadian and international mining experience. He possesses a solid technical background in mine planning, economic analysis, evaluations, and due diligence complemented by exemplary skills in communications, commercial transactions, and customer management. Nigel has managed throughout his career short-term, medium, and long-term planning, permitting, implementation of innovation projects, and coordinated feasibility studies, pit optimisation and pit design, along with EIA permitting. He has been QP on multiple NI 43-101 technical reports. Nigel has worked extensively across Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Latin America and has previously held director and vice president roles in Toronto. He completed a Bachelor of Mining Engineering at McGill University (Montreal, Quebec) and a Bachelor of Science Honours in Biology at the University of Toronto.
Andrew Sharp
Principal Mining Engineer
Andrew Sharp is a mining engineer and mineral economist with more than 30 years of global mining experience. He has worked for both the major and mid-tier mining houses in senior management, leadership and consultancy roles and sat on mining boards. He has extensive experience in operations, corporate strategy development, engineering, asset and business development, continuous improvement, and mergers and acquisitions. Andrew has built his career around entire mine life exposure, especially management of mine start-ups and turn-arounds, mine planning and operations experience for underground and open cut operations in Asia, Papua New Guinea and South America.
Dr Pim Van Geffen
Technical Director
Pim is a professional geoscientist with more than 15 years’ experience in mineral exploration and mining across the globe. He is a leader in the fields of geochemistry and geometallurgy in the Americas and is passionate about innovation and improved business practice in the sector. Across exploration to operations, closure and remediation, Pim focuses on rock-property data integration and process optimization throughout the mining value chain. He sees tremendous potential value in unlocking hidden information through geoscientific data gathered and not used to its full potential to characterize ore and waste, minimize operational risk, and maximize return. Pim has been a significant contributor across the industry; having delivered a plethora of public short courses and conference talks on geochemical data analysis and its geomet applications. He has provided in-house training to mining companies and academic institutions on ioGAS software, portable X-ray fluorescence analysis and infrared reflectance spectroscopy, and has served as a guest lecturer at the University of British Columbia and Queen’s University.
