PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA – MONDAY, APRIL 4, 2022 – CSA Global (an ERM Group company) is pleased to announce the appointment of Manager-Africa, Sifiso Siwela to its regional team based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Prior to joining CSA Global, Sifiso was Senior Manager at Deloitte Technical Mining Advisory and was responsible for managing global multi-disciplinary projects across mine value chain strategic exploration planning, target generation, the life of mine audits and strategy design.
With the EMEA region seeing significant growth opportunities from new clients and within CSA Global’s strong client base and our parent company ERM, the company has decided to capitalise on these opportunities. The appointment of Sifiso, who possesses a solid local and regional network, high business development acumen and a solid track record in the South African consulting market, is paramount to the continued success of CSA Global in the region, said Brendan.
During his tenure at Deloitte, Sifiso conducted several major assignments, including the mineral asset and equity valuation of chromite and coal projects in Turkey and South Africa, the digitalisation strategy and operating model for a Ministry of Mines in the Middle East, and several Mineral Resource and Reserve reviews on projects throughout Africa, Brazil, and the United States of America.
Sifiso’s appointment comes at an exciting time for CSA Global as current Partner-EMEA, Galen White, a geologist with more than twenty-five years of experience in the international exploration and mining arena, transitions into a newly created role as Partner – Growth and Delivery, effective 01 May.
Galen commenced his current role in 2017 during a restructure of the global executive team and prior to its acquisition by parent company ERM. He will focus on growth strategy, strategic client relationships, technical project execution and delivery, and continuing to enhance the delivery of our integrated technical and sustainability consulting to clients.
The strategic move for Galen provides an enormous opportunity for Brendan to transition into the role of Partner-EMEA. This promotion will see Brendan manage the current operations for the EMEA region.
Brendan commenced with CSA Global in 2018 and has 22 years of industry experience covering exploration, project evaluation, development studies and expert reporting across a broad range of mineral commodities.

On a personal note, I am looking forward to the challenge of leading a bigger team in the EMEA region, developing our client base and service offerings further, and enhancing the powerful legacy Galen has cemented for CSA Global in the region.”

Sifiso graduated with an Honours in Geology and holds a Graduate Diploma in Engineering in Geostatistics and Mineral Resource Evaluation. He currently serves on the SAMCODES committee and served as immediate past president of the Geological Society of South Africa. He will join CSA Global’s South African team at the upcoming Investing in African Mining Indaba conference held between 9-12 May 2022.
