PDAC is the leading voice of Canada’s mineral exploration and development community since 1932.
The association currently has 8,000 members globally and promotes a responsible and sustainable mining and minerals industry.
Managing Director, Jeff Elliott, stated: “PDAC is the peak advocacy body for the world’s mineral exploration and mining sector in Canada; lobbying for the government, supporting students, and responsible for hosting one of the largest mining and minerals conferences in the world. We are extremely honoured to have Felix Lee; a Director of our Canadian business represent our sector through PDAC.”
Felix has served as 1st Vice President of the PDAC for the past two years and has been a Director of PDAC for twelve years. He is a member of the PDAC’s Executive, Governance & Nominating, Human Resources Development, and Membership committees, and co-chair of the PDAC’s Student-Industry Mineral Exploration Workshop organising committee.
His contribution to the minerals industry spans for more than 30 years, both in Canada and internationally where Felix has been involved in multi-disciplinary exploration and development projects in North and South America, including Europe, Central Asia and Africa encompassing a wide range of geological environments and deposit types.
“Felix has been a strong advocate for the exploration resource sector, and has been particularly active in encouraging the next generation of leaders in our business” said President of Americas, Stan Wholley.
Felix stated: “It’s an honour to serve as the president of the PDAC, an organisation which has been a part of my life since my days as an undergraduate geology student. Being able to give back to the industry that has given me so much is indeed a privilege, and I’m pleased to be able to share this journey with my CSA Global colleagues. While the PDAC is perhaps best known for its annual convention, it’s primary mandate is one of advocacy. The PDAC seeks to ensure the industry can continue to access the capital, land, and skills needed for exploration, as well as develop and promote sustainable best practices in mineral exploration, particularly as they relate to corporate social responsibility, aboriginal participation, environmental stewardship, diversity and inclusion, and health and safety. Though the challenges may be wide-ranging, I’m very much looking forward to the challenge.”
CSA Global looks forward the PDAC 2020 Convention, March 1 to 4, 2020—where the world’s mineral exploration and mining community will once again meet.
