Meet Principal Consultant – Mine Water Management, Damien Janssen at the Australasian Groundwater Conference 2019 between 24-27 November, Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Brisbane, Australia.
This conference seeks to deliver informative presentations, field trips and a technical program around the theme of “Groundwater in a Changing World” that covers a broad range of applications to resources, infrastructure and environment.
CSA Global’s groundwater team collaborates with small and large companies through its hydrologists, hydrogeologists, engineers and geologists who possess knowledge in mine water management services globally and tailoring solutions to meet the issues faced by the mining industry.

Mine Water Management – Project Water Balance, Dewatering, Process Supply
CSA Global has undertaken Life of Mine water balance planning to understand water management requirements and timings for the Project. Dewatering (and associated pit void storage) is about to commence. Early planning is now underway to assess process water supply options to ensure sufficient water for site requirements in the longer term. Study outcomes will be applied to PFS and environmental approvals.

Due Diligence Review of Mine Water Supply & Water Management
CSA Global completed a Fatal flaw and due diligence review of the Khoemacau Copper Project in Botswana which included a review of the water managements aspects to facilitate progression of the project from Definitive Feasibility Study through to Front-End Engineering Design phase. The review was completed in numerous phases over a two year period, it included a site visit and review of mine inflows, dewatering design, surface water management, water balance, tailings storage facility and water supply security for the life of mine.
Pre-Feasibility Study & Definitive Feasibility Study of New Liberty Combined Project
CSA Global has carried out a hydrogeological field investigation, data analysis and interpretation, groundwater modelling, mine inflow evaluation and surface water management for a combined new underground mine at the New Liberty open pit mine and development of a new open pit at the Ndablama satellite orebody. Our team is currently completing the hydrological and hydrogeological aspects of the ongoing Definitive Feasibility Study for the combined project.
