Listing on Singapore Stock Exchange; How mining companies meet stakeholders’ expectation to achieve corporate sustainability

Published on May 3rd, 2021

The mining industry is increasingly recognising that it has a significant role in the sustainability of many industries. For the Singapore Exchange (SGX), the disclosure of Environmental, Social, Government (ESG), in particular: carbon emissions, dust emissions, water resources, safety, human rights, diversity and inclusion, etc. are some of the factors that any listed mining companies would need to fulfil.

The financial community, investors and stakeholders are assessing the ESG performance and commitment of mining companies. Mining companies need to create and protect their value by growing and managing their risks. “The mine we want to see” is a theme developed by ERM to support mining industries to establish a sustainable metals ecosystem for mining companies, communities, customers, and investors through responsible mining.

It guides the journey to safe, efficient, inclusive and technology-enabled mining practices, from concept to closure, to deliver societal and commercial value. CSA Global (an ERM Group company) has vast experience with the exploration and mining reporting standards required (e.g. JORC, NI 43-101 and VALMIN) for Singapore Exchange listing.

The webinar jointly hosted by SGX, ERM and CSA Global will share expectations from the SGX for mining industries, including the benefits of listing on the SGX, reporting on resources/reserves and valuations as well as ESG disclosure and rating readiness.

Join ERM, CSA Global and the Singapore Stock Exchange to learn more about:

  • The benefits of listing on the Singapore Exchange.
  • Importance of ESG requirements for a mining company and expectations for ESG disclosure post-IPO.
  • The value of a mining project, pre-and post-IPO and reporting standards to be aware of.
