CSA Global Eastern Australia and Pac-Rim Manager, Patrick Maher presented at the Brisbane Resources Round-Up between 17-18 October 2018 on: “Unearth the Basic Foundations of Resource Evaluation” in Brisbane, Queensland.
The conference bought together Australia’s leading resources companies and corporate investment advisers at one of the east coast’s most popular and long lasting resources forums.
ABSTRACT: Unearth the Basic Foundations of Resource Evaluation
Essential basic steps in evaluating any resource project (exploration or mining) focus on the quality of work done at the geology and resource estimation stages.
Generating an understanding of these two aspects of a mineral resource project can lead to a solid understanding of the projects worth and potential for success. A Mineral Resource estimate built upon solid geological interpretation is the best foundation for any subsequent Mining Study.
Digging through and unearthing the value drivers in geological and resource estimation data allows the practitioner to find weak spots.
A top-down focus on value drivers is also an important objective in due diligence work when assessing the value, risks and opportunities associated with mineral resource projects.
