Join CSA Global and our parent company, ERM as we connect with companies around the world at the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) Online between 24-27 November 2020.

Running over several days, and across multiple time zones, the IMARC Online interactive program covers all aspects of the mining supply chain – from exploration to investment, production to optimization through to new technologies and global opportunities – alongside discussions on health and safety, renewable energy, critical minerals and sustainability.

There will also be a virtual expo hall to meet exhibitors showcasing the latest mining projects, technology and innovations, and networking opportunities to engage with industry peers, innovators, leaders, financiers, governments and mentors.

The session will run in the Sustainability & Transparency – Collaboration, Engagement & Sustainability stream on Friday 27 November at 13.40pm.

Sam Ulrich – Principal Geologist

Sam is a principal geologist with more than 25 years’ experience in the areas of exploration and resource development of gold, uranium and copper projects. He has several years’ experience as a consultant and possesses strong knowledge in the areas of project evaluations, the undertaking of VALMIN compliant valuations and Independent Geological Reports for IPO’s. Sam has worked extensively in Archaean orogenic gold deposits, epithermal gold, and silver deposits in Indonesia and North Queensland. He has travelled globally to undertake assignments in countries, such as China, Laos, Indonesia, Argentina and the Kyrgyz Republic. With a strong interest in mineral economics, Sam is currently undertaking his PhD at the Centre for Exploration Targeting (CET) at The University of Western Australia linking geology to gold mine economics in Australia and New Zealand with a focus on orogenic gold deposits. His most research paper ‘Greenhouse gas emissions and production cost footprint in Australia gold mines’ published by the Journal of Cleaner Production in 2020 delves into the impacts of gold grade changes, energy substitution and energy efficiency initiatives on GHG emissions intensity.

CSA Global, Principal Geologist Sam Ulrich will present on ‘The Battle for Capital: What every mining CEO needs to know about climate risk’ during the Renewables and Future Energy stream between 12.45pm on Friday 27 November, 2020.
