CSA Global and PDAC have collaborated to deliver the Joan Bath and Peter Howe student bursary program.
The program is comprised of two $3,000 bursaries with an aim to assist geoscientists and engineers in a field related to mining, and to further their education in Canada.

Louise has over 25 years of international consulting experience, she concentrates on developing corporate strategy and risk management programs, alongside managing global due diligence and post-merger integrations for the mining sector.
Pim van Geffen
CSA Global, Principal Consultant
Pim is a geochemist and has 15 years’ experience in mining and mineral exploration, with expertise in lithogeochemistry, data analysis, and geometallurgy. His work focuses on improving business practices in the mining industry through data integration and process optimization across the project life cycle.
Paul Heaney
CSA Global, Director – Ireland, Manager – Water
Paul has over 26 years’ consulting experience in water resources assessment, development and management. Paul has managed and directed hydrogeological and hydrological studies associated with mine water supply, mine closure, water quality, and mine water management on projects globally.
Jim Chan
ERM, Senior Consultant
Jim is driven to help shape the business of sustainability. With over 15 years of experience, he works in impact assessment, regulatory permitting, consultation and Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) due diligence for the mining sector.
Jane Shaw
ERM, Principal Consultant
Jane is a geologist and hydrogeologist with more than 25 years’ experience in mineral exploration and environmental consultancy. Jane specializes in catchment-scale water assessments to identify current and future sensitivities to water supply and discharge for projects, communities and the environment.
Toby Whincup
ERM Partner
Toby has 20 years of consulting experience. His technical experience covers the entire project life cycle, primarily in the mining and energy sectors, and can be broadly defined as investment and reputational protection through identification, mitigation and management of material nontechnical risks and liabilities.
