CSA Global Manager of Mining, Karl van Olden and Principal Mining Engineers, Paul O’Callaghan and David Bairstow are looking forward to meeting you between 10-11 September at The Global Mining Leaders Conference 2018 in Perth, Western Australia.

This conference brings together industry luminaries from Australia and around the world – providing a unique platform to discuss the future of the mining sector on the world stage.

Prominent leaders will share their views on conference key themes: globalisation, technical disruption and competitive advantage providing a unique insight into the challenges our industry is facing as we move into the future.

MEET OUR TEAM:

Karl van Olden - Manager – MiningKarl Van Olden

Karl is a mining engineer with more than 25 years’ experience in planning, development and operations of a diverse range of open pit and underground resource assets across Africa, Asia and Australia. Karl manages the mine engineering team based in our Perth office and maintains global visibility of all engineering-related projects. Karl can assemble teams internationally to provide timely and practical advice from scoping level through to full feasibility studies, due diligence reviews, valuations and operational support. The mining team work closely with our resource team to ensure that good geology translates into effective mine planning and more efficient operations. The synergies created by this collaborative ethos enable our team to produce comprehensive solutions across the business value chain.

Paul O'Callaghan - Principal Mining EngineerPaul O’Callaghan
Principal Mining Engineer

Paul is a mining engineer with more than 24 years’ experience, primarily in open pit mining. Paul holds an Unrestricted Quarry Manager (WA) qualification. He has specialised skills in pit and waste dump optimisation, mine design and mine scheduling, Reserve reporting, project evaluation, due diligence and feasibility studies. Paul compliments his consulting experience with over 15 years of site based work for a variety of mining companies operating throughout Australia and overseas and is backed by strong skills in iron ore, precious and base metals.

David Bairstow, Principal Mining EngineerDavid Bairstow
Principal Mining Engineer

David has with over 14 years’ experience in mining, predominately in underground (gold and base metals) operations and consulting. David holds a WA First Class Mine Managers Certificate and has worked in production, planning, projects and management roles including underground manager and deputy positions for various operations. David previously held the position of General Manager for Mining One Consultants in Perth and possesses strong business acumen and client facing skills. As a consultant, David has project managed and partaken in numerous feasibility studies (open pit and underground) from conceptual to definitive feasibility stages, LOM planning and optimisation projects, due diligence and technical reviews.
