Dennis Arne

Dennis has over (30) years’ experience in exploration in a wide range of environments in both the minerals and the petroleum industries, as an academic, and in geological surveys. In recent years he has been involved as a consultant in the development of exploration programs for precious and base metals exploration in Australia, North America, South America and the Middle East. Specifically, this has included contributing to exploration targeting reviews and understanding gold and base metals mineral systems, the design, management and interpretation of surficial geochemical surveys, the interpretation of lithogeochemical data, the preparation of QA/QC protocols, reviews of geochemical data quality, and contributions to NI43-101 and JORC/Valmin technical reports. He has published extensively in the areas of applied geochemistry, economic geology and thermal history analysis for tectonic and petroleum exploration applications.

Karol has more than twenty-two years’ experience in open pit iron ore, professional planning roles, and consulting. He has managed technical professionals to provide quality mine technical services in the areas of business planning, mine engineering, production reporting, directing and coordinating activities connected with mine production. His experience includes equipment selection, cost estimation, financial evaluations, pit and dump optimisations and designs, computerised mine planning and scheduling.  Karol has worked extensively in the gold mining industry across West Africa, in particular, Mali and Senegal and Suriname, South America. He is skilled in the use of pit optimisation, design, planning and scheduling software and has extensive experience as a Lead Competent Person for reporting of ore reserves under JORC and SEC rules, and mine planning risk assessment under SOX.

Carl Brauhart

Dr Brauhart is an exploration geologist with more than 20 years' experience in gold and base-metal exploration, spending much of that time working in frontier areas of Western Australia on grassroots projects. He has a particular interest in geochemistry, both exploration geochemistry and ore deposit geochemistry, and a passion for field work, particularly mapping. Carl has maintained a close association with the Centre for Exploration Targeting at the University of Western Australia where he is the lead researcher on the OSNACA Project (an ore deposit geochemistry research effort).

Ivy Chen

Ivy is a corporate governance specialist with more than 28 years’ experience in mining and resource estimation. She served as the national geology and mining adviser for the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) from 2009–2015 and is currently Principal Consultant at CSA Global. Ivy’s experience in the mining industry in Australia and China, as an operations and consulting geologist includes open pit and underground mines for gold, manganese and chromite. As a consulting geologist she has conducted mineral project evaluation, strategy development and implementation, through to senior corporate management roles.  Ivy joined the VALMIN committee in 2015.

Matthew is a geologist and geostatistician with more than 12 years’ experience in exploration, mine geology, due diligence and resource estimation. Matthew’s focus is tailored resource modelling solutions from discovery to grade-control, drawing from a broad range of methods including non-linear and multivariate techniques, with a focus on producing geology driven models using the simplest fit-for-purpose technique. Matthew’s experience includes projects in the Pilbara, WA Goldfields, Eastern Africa, Turkey and Asia.

Dr Dorling is a principal geologist with more than 26 years' experience in exploration, development and the mining of base metals, precious metals, energy minerals and industrial minerals. Simon has applied his skills to projects at the grass roots level through to full feasibility study stage. Simon specialises in structural geology and resource project evaluations; metals and industrial minerals projects; expert reviews and Qualified Person reports; project and exploration concept reviews and assessments; resource and geological modelling, independent technical Competent / Qualified Person for public reporting.

Mick Elias

Mick is an expert in all aspects of nickel resource assessment and development in both laterites and sulphides. He has 35 years’ experience in the nickel industry conducting project generation and evaluation, exploration planning and management, development studies, open cut and underground mine geology, resource/reserve estimation, and resource economics. He has worked on the technical and financial evaluation of many nickel deposits throughout Australia. His international experience includes Cuba, Indonesia, Madagascar, Philippines, New Caledonia, Canada, Turkey and Brazil.

Gerry Fahey - Principal Mine Geologist

Gerry Fahey

Gerry has more than 39 years’ experience in mining, geology, resources and project evaluation, and provides advice on feasibility studies, JORC and NI 43-101 reporting and independent geologist reports.  Gerry has a strong operational background experience in senior management roles on operating mines in Australia and internationally. His operational skills can be deployed globally to deliver onsite mining dilution and operator training workshops, as well as mentoring and training for mine geologists and technicians. Gerry is a former member of the Executive of the Joint Ore Reserve Committee (JORC) and a former chairman of the AIG (Australian Institute of Geologists).

Dale is a Principal Data Consultant with over 15 years’ experience in Exploration / Mining software including Micromine, ArcGIS / MapInfo and SQL databases including Datashed and acQuire. Dale has focused on the development of data capture and GIS solutions for clients and employers from grassroots exploration projects through to feasibility studies and mining projects. He has an intimate knowledge of computer hardware and systems developed through personal passion and practical field experience.


Neal Leggo

Neal is a geologist with more than 30 years’ experience including management, mineral exploration, consulting, resource geology, underground operations, and open pit mining.  He has worked in a variety of Australian geological terrains and specialises in copper, gold, silver-lead-zinc and iron ore for which he has the experience required for code-compliant reporting. He possesses experience with uranium, vanadium, manganese, tin, tungsten, nickel, lithium, niobium, gemstones, mineral sands and industrial minerals.  Neal provides a range of consulting services including code-compliant (JORC, NI43-101, VALMIN) reporting and valuation, technical studies, reviews, and management of exploration projects. He offers extensive knowledge of available geological, geophysical, geochemical and exploration techniques and methodologies, combined with strong experience in resource estimation, feasibility study, development, and mining of mineral deposits.

Travis is a geologist with more than 22 years’ experience across multiple sectors of the resource industry; including exploration, mine operations, planning, and production; as well as technical research roles.
He has proven leadership skills and successes in exploration (lead team to discovery), mining (mine-geology as well as broader application of geoscience solutions to mining and minerals processing), and applied research (project lead in significant DNRM-GSQ funded Cloncurry Cu-Au prospectivity analysis; and key role in applied, industry-funded research into geological drivers of mass-mining (caving) methods). He specialises in structural geology, exploration and mine geology, and targeted geometallurgy/deposit-knowledge; and holds an Honorary Senior Fellow appointment at UQ-Sustainable Minerals Institute.

Trivindren is an exploration geologist with more than 17 years’ experience in the minerals industry, including 12 years as a consultant. He specialises in project evaluations and technical reviews as well as code-compliant reporting (JORC, VALMIN, NI43-101 and CIMVAL) and valuation. Trivindren’s knowledge is broad-based, and he has wide-ranging experience in the field of mineral exploration, having managed or consulted on various projects ranging from first-pass grassroots exploration to brownfields exploration and evaluation, including the assessment of operating mines. He has worked in Sub-Saharan Africa, Australia, Canada, Indonesia and Brazil, and has worked on diamonds, precious metals, base metals, coal and industrial minerals. He is a Registered Professional Natural Scientist (Pr.Sci.Nat) in the field of Geology with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP), as well as a Member of the AusIMM and Fellow of the Geological Society of South Africa (GSSA).

Paul is a mining engineer with more than 24 years' experience, primarily in open pit mining. Paul holds an Unrestricted Quarry Manager (WA) qualification. He has specialised skills in pit and waste dump optimisation, mine design and mine scheduling, Reserve reporting, project evaluation, due diligence and feasibility studies. Paul compliments his consulting experience with over 15 years of site based work for a variety of mining companies operating throughout Australia and overseas. He has very strong skills in iron ore, precious and base metals.

Ralph has more than 35 years' of mineral exploration experience. He is highly experienced in target generation, project evaluation and exploration program implementation for gold, base metals, nickel, PGM's and pegmatite hosted lithium, tin and tantalum. He has a strong understanding of many deposit styles with particular strengths in orogenic gold, epithermal gold, porphyry copper-gold and rare-element pegmatite systems. He is credited with the discovery of the Pajingo epithermal gold deposits, North Queensland, Australia and was involved in the early exploration and discovery phases of Thunder Bay North PGM-Ni-Cu deposit, Ontario, Canada.

Warren is a geologist with more than 20 years' experience in exploration and mining geology, management and technical R&D. He specialises in structural geology, integrated mineral system analysis, 3D modelling, and technical mentoring. Warren has extensive exploration, mine production and technical projects experience, and a strong background in applied exploration technology R&D and mineral systems research he gained while with the CSIRO. He has a strong track record of discovery in Chilean magmatic hydrothermal mineral systems (IOCG, porphyry Cu/Au), Archaean orogenic gold and VHMS systems, and broad experience across the range of magmatic-hydrothermal mineral systems.

Mark is a geologist with more than 20 years’ multi-commodity experience. He has worked across a variety of geological terranes, with specialist expertise in the exploration for and the evaluation of iron ore, manganese and potash deposits. He has worked on more than 100 iron deposits throughout his career and possesses significant experience in the Pilbara, West Africa and Latin America. He has led manganese exploration efforts in Australian (East Arnhem Land) and Gabon, as well as potash projects in Canada (Saskatchewan) and Ethiopia. Mark possesses a high capability in project review and technical due diligence; he is an expert in the design and management of exploration programs. He has acknowledged skills at building relationships and team capability while maintaining the highest standards of excellence, professionalism and integrity. Mark has a very positive, friendly, can-do attitude and relishes in engaging and working with clients to achieve a common goal.

Jamie is a geologist who with more than 10 years experience. He obtained his PhD in lithostructural controls on ore shoots within orogenic gold systems and has spent more than 10 years working on deposit to regional scale controls on structurally controlled hydrothermal mineral systems. He has worked in research and development roles focused on mineral exploration, gold and base metal exploration and 3D geological modelling. Jamie’s skills are centered around collection, collation, integration, analysis and 3D modelling of a wide range of geological data sets with a view to understanding why known mineralisation is where it is, as a basis for developing and testing new exploration targets.

Andrew Scogings - Principal Consultant - Industrial Minerals

Dr Scogings is a geologist with more than 25 years’ experience in industrial minerals exploration, product development and sales management.  Andrew has published papers on reporting requirements of the JORC Code 2012, with specific reference to Table 1 and Clauses 18 and 19 (industrial mineral Exploration Results) and Clause 49 (industrial mineral specifications). He has published numerous articles on industrial minerals in Industrial Minerals Magazine, SEG Mining News, AIG News and AIG Journal amongst others; addressing aspects of QA/QC, bulk density methods and petrography for industrial minerals exploration. He was recently senior author of two significant reviews: Natural Graphite Report – strategic outlook to 2020 and Drilling grade barite - Supply, Demand & Markets published in 2015 by Industrial Minerals Research (UK). He has co-authored several papers on lithium pegmatites including: Reporting Exploration Results and Mineral Resources for lithium mineralised pegmatites published during 2016 in the AIG Journal. Andrew is a Registered Professional Geoscientist (RP Geo. Industrial Minerals) with the Australian Institute of Geoscientists.

Dr Maxim Seredkin - Principal Resource Geologist

Dr Seredkin has more than 18 years’ experience in exploration, mining production and resource estimation. He has experience in a range of commodities and reporting codes (including JORC and NI43-101). Maxim is particularly sought after in industry and academia for his expertise in uranium, he has in-depth experience across a range of geological settings and deposit types. He has specialist skills in the application of in-situ recovery for uranium extraction based on 5 years of direct operational experience. In addition to uranium expertise, Maxim has experience in bauxite, rare earths and iron ore. Maxim has a strong scientific background, with research experience in ore genesis, petrology and the mineralisation of carbonatite, alkaline and ultramafic complexes, in hydrothermal-metasomatic gold and tungsten deposits.

Ian is an experienced exploration geologist with more than 25 years’ experience and has been involved in several discovery teams across Australia, Asia and South America. He has significant knowledge with low sulphidation epithermal deposits, orogenic gold mineralisation and intrusive related exploration experience ranging from Greenfields to near mine projects. Ian has been involved in the discovery of several important ore deposits including the Nolans/Sarsfield gold deposits and copper mine extensions in Australia, as well as the rejuvenation of the Mt Muro Epithermal deposits (Indonesia) and the Saramacca gold deposit (Suriname). With a long and demonstrated history of successful exploration for gold and base metals; his experience incorporates a diverse background of exploration settings globally across the minerals sectors. Ian provides integrated, mineral systems based geological models and targeting advice. He has authored several papers including: “Ravenswood Gold Deposits”: AusIMM Monograph 22: Geology of the Mineral Deposits of Australia and Papua New Guinea.”

Ilmar is a principal geologist who has spent more than 35 years working in iron ore, and has extensive experience of the Pilbara region of West Australia, West Africa and Brazil. He has particular experience in geological interpretations and modelling of iron ore deposits, assessment of project potential and development of work programmes, due diligence, development of competency frameworks and associated training programmes, and provision of professional advice.

Malcolm has more than 35 years’ experience in geology, resource estimation, feasibility studies and mine production.  With twenty years’ experience spent in mining operations and fifteen years as a consultant, Malcolm assists clients to navigate the path from resource definition through to production.  Malcolm's expertise includes advanced Mineral Resource estimation techniques, mining productivity improvements such as ‘short interval control’, blast movement, ore dilution analysis, mine production team mentoring and training.


Ian Trinder

Ian is a professional geologist with more than 30 years’ experience in working with junior exploration, mining companies and mineral exploration consultants.  He has considerable field exploration and project management experience in glaciated, desert and tropical terrains and has extensive experience in compilation, integration and interpretation of exploration datasets and authoring of exploration summary reports, assessment reports and, NI 43-101 technical reports. Ian is an expert in mineral exploration including compilation, integration and interpretation of drill hole, surface geology, geophysics, geochemistry and satellite imagery exploration datasets and technical reporting.  He is a Professional Geoscientist in the Provinces of Ontario (APGO) and Manitoba (APEGM), Member of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada, Member of the Society of Economic Geologists.


Alexey Tsoy

Alexey is a Principal Consultant of Corporate and Business Development and possesses more than 15 years’ commercial experience in contract negotiations, sales, marketing and business development. He led several complex resource and reserve estimation projects as Project Manager. He is also a contributor to major Russian mining and geology magazines on international reporting standards for reporting on resources and reserves, on the impact mining has on the general economy and the required changes to maximize it.

Sam is a principal geologist with more than 20 years’ experience in the areas of exploration and resource development of gold, uranium and copper projects.  He has several years’ experience as a consultant and possesses a strong knowledge in the areas of project evaluations, the undertaking of VALMIN compliant valuations and Independent Geological Reports for IPO’s. Sam has worked extensively in Archaean orogenic gold deposits, epithermal gold and silver deposits in Indonesia and North Queensland. He has travelled globally to undertake assignments in countries, such as China, Laos, Indonesia, Argentina and the Kyrgyz Republic. With an interest in mineral economics, Sam is currently undertaking his PhD at the Centre for Exploration Targeting (CET) at The University of Western Australia linking geology to gold mine economics in Australia and New Zealand, with a focus on orogenic gold deposits.

Serik’s is a qualified Competent Person for JORC and Qualified Person for NI 43-10.

David is a highly experienced resource geologist with more than 25 years’ experience in resource estimation and mine geology. He has worked on a variety of commodities including gold, iron ore, uranium, nickel laterite, graphite and base metals in Australia, Indonesia and Namibia. David is a competent person for JORC reporting of Mineral Resources and is a qualified person for Canadian NI43-101 reporting for gold and iron ore. David is able to provide advice on due diligence studies, JORC and NI 43-101 reporting and Independent Geologist Reports.

Andre is a minerals industry professional with almost 20 years international experience as exploration manager and consultant for both private and public companies. Based in Johannesburg, South Africa he mostly works within Africa and has a sound understanding of the economical and political climate. His experience includes the development, initiation, management and review of exploration projects across a wide range of commodities and for all phases of exploration. This includes all aspects of mapping, sampling, geophysics management, trenching, pitting, bulk sampling and running of drilling campaigns. Andre’s strength is the marriage of technical and economic aspects of projects, facilitating the maximum economic benefit of each project. Having worked across a wide range of commodities, countries and cultures, Andre is often the first port of call for his clients to assist in developing and integrating their strategic, economic and technical facets within their business model.
